The Historic Route 66 is also known as "The Mother Road." It's a journey where the landscape continuously shifts through forests, prairies, deserts, and mountains, passing through exciting towns and major attractions. The tour is "Westbound," starting from Chicago and ending in Los Angeles.
A significant and essential part of the Route 66 experience is its historical aspect. You'll find yourself transported back to the 1950s and 1960s America many times during the journey. We'll visit several museums, among other places, and after the trip, you'll likely have a completely new understanding of the challenges faced by the pioneers who came here.

Route 66, stretching nearly 2500 miles from Chicago to Los Angeles, holds a special place in American history and culture. The centennial anniversary will be commemorated with events, festivities, and a renewed appreciation for this legendary route.
On this journey, you will traverse 8 states, all of which have commenced preparations for the anniversary. States are providing grants to restore signs, buildings, attractions, and more. Additionally, a variety of events and anniversary experiences are being planned along the route throughout the jubilee year.
Trond Moberg was among the first in the world to start motorcycle tours along the legendary Route 66 back in 1999. Naturally, he is a guarantor of great experiences along this route, which so many have enjoyed experiencing both on two and four wheels.

Upon our arrival in Chicago, we acquaint ourselves with both the participants and guides. Those with the inclination and time can seize the chance to explore the vibrant offerings of the city.
Our Route 66 journey begins! We assemble in front of the hotel for a collective departure to Explorify, where we'll pick up our motorcycles. From there, our path leads us to Bloomington, where we'll rest for the night.
This day promises a plethora of authentic Route 66 driving and remarkable encounters with nature. We culminate our day by delving into the majestic "Gateway Arch" in St. Louis, where we'll spend the evening and night.
Once again, today offers captivating nature encounters as we traverse the breathtaking Ozarks. We visit the Meramec Mines with the Jesse James Museum and the Munger Moss Motel.
Another day with exciting Route 66 driving. We drive through the "heart of the USA; Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. On the way to Tulsa we visit the Route 66 stations "Gay Parita Sinclair" and "4 Women on the Route". We also take a look at the iconic Rock Cafe.
This is the day we venture into cowboy country and the largest state in the USA, Texas. In a sense, this also becomes the day of the steak. The day concludes with a visit to the legendary "Big Texan Steakhouse."
We're driving through cowboy country, with long stretches of flat plains and landscapes. We are now halfway to Los Angeles. We'll have lunch in Tucumcari and stop by the iconic "Blue Swallow" motel.
We move out of Cowboy Country and into Indian Country. Here, Native Americans have lived for centuries. We also visit the charming Madrid.
This will be a day of desert driving and exceptional natural experiences. Passing through Navajo and Apache territory, we enter the Painted Desert.
For many, this will be the highlight of the tour. Welcome to the Grand Canyon! Now, we're going to experience one of the world's wonders up close. The day concludes in the cozy town of Kingman.
This day promises numerous authentic Route 66 experiences. We'll visit the western town of Oatman, where donkeys roam freely through the streets, and conclude the day in Las Vegas.

Today, we set course for our final destination; the "End of Route 66" at Santa Monica Pier in LA. We'll drive along the Angeles Crest Highway, offering a fantastic experience on wheels. Winding roads, beautiful landscapes, and spectacular views await. Upon arrival at the hotel in Los Angeles, we'll change into casual attire and gather for a cozy farewell dinner.
We check out of the hotel and gather for shared transportation to the airport. We wish everyone a safe journey home! Remember: Those traveling back to Norway will arrive in Norway one day later due to the time difference.

We embark on the final stretch towards Los Angeles but make a pit stop at the fascinating Calico Ghost Town. Then, we'll have lunch in the historic town of Barstow. Afterward, it's a straight drive to the picturesque resort of Big Bear Lake, where we'll enjoy our last evening on the road.
